Allowing app installs from Unknown Sources in Android

The Android operating system has a limitation that prevents the installation of apps from sources other than the Google Play Store.

The following notification may appear throughout the installation process if this is your first time installing an unknown source app:

"Block install. Your phone is configured to prevent installation of apps not downloaded from the Play Store for security reasons."

A setting to allow the installation of apps from unknown sources won't be available if your phone is running Android Oreo or higher. Instead, Google treats this as an app permission, and you are prompted each time you try to install an Applivery-obtained app.

But how should you go about starting the installation?

To allow app installs from unknown sources follow this steps:

Navigate to Setting > Security.

Check the option “Unknown sources“.

Tap OK on the prompt message.

Select “Trust“.**

That's it; you may now attempt to install the Program once more. Keep in mind that these settings will be permanently saved in your operating system, allowing you to install Android apps from ANY source.

You continue to be safe.

Google Play Protect will continue scanning apps, checking for viruses and malware, and blocking prohibited apps even when installing apps from unidentified sources.
